Houston FLL Committee Application
We are currently taking applications for people who wish to
influence the future of FIRST LEGO League by serving on the Houston FLL
Committee. Since the first FLL Texas State Tournament was hosted by Houston
in 2002, more than 75 teams in the Greater Houston Area have joined FLL. Because
of this tremendous growth and success, we believe that it is necessary to
expand and formalize the Houston FLL Committee.
We are very, very thankful for all of the support that
Houston Independent School District's Hogg Middle School has given to
Houston FLL. After 2004, we will have outgrown Hogg MS unless we pursue a
qualifying structure as other states. The current Houston FLL Committee is
committed to being all-inclusive and wishes to pursue a venue that will
accommodate up to 200 teams. After reaching 200 teams, we intend to pursue
another state tournament in the Greater Houston Area. This decision
is based on our philosophy that the lasting impressions of team members
seeing hundreds of other students excited and
celebrating engineering significantly outweighs the need to remain at Hogg
MS. Not for the foreseeable future will this philosophy change. Other than
being all-inclusive, all other aspects of Houston FLL is "up for
discussion".
If you are interested in sculpting the future of FLL in
Houston, please complete the application below. After applying, we will
contact you and begin to get you involved in this year's FLL Tournament
which will be held on December 4, 2004.
Thanks for supporting Houston FLL,
Houston FLL Committee
